STATE FIRE PREVENTION COMMISSION
The State Fire Prevention Commission was formed for the purpose of the promulgation of regulations
for the safeguarding of life and property from the hazards of fire and explosion. The commission is
comprised of six members appointed by the governor for a six-year term. Each county has two repre-
sentatives, one from industry, and one from the fire service. A seventh member of the commission is
the past president of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association, who serves a one-year term. The
commission conducts their meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the commis-
sion chamber located in the Delaware State Fire School. They have three full-time staff members,
which include, Sherry Lambertson, Executive Specialist, Elizabeth Carey, Administrative Specialist II,
and David Truax, Investigator II.
