NEW PROJECTS / INITIATIVES

Major projects or programs to be initiated or implemented during fiscal year 2022 include:

1. Continue the validation of programs offered by the School.
2. Continue to update our computers and computer programs to keep up with a changing environment.

3. Add testing center capabilities for NREMT testing and for certification testing with PearsonVue.
4. Make improvements to our Vehicle Rescue area by adding curbing or guardrails (cable barrier props).
5. Working with Delaware Technical and Community College on programs to include Life Credit for Fire
School courses.

6. Offer more hybrid courses to allow students to take training at their own pace.
7. Explore additional certifications, such as Life Safety Educator, Traffic Management, and National Training of
EMS Educators.

8. Continue camps for teens to allow them to experience fire training and other emergency services
opportunities.
9. Develop and offer Speaker Seminars with current topics for the Delaware Fire Service.
10. Implement the drone pilot qualification course.

11. Add an additional office to the Sussex Division.
12. Install additional audio-visual equipment in classrooms to conduct more WebEx and online meetings and
online classroom sessions.

13. Equip outdoor classrooms with television monitors to allow for additional learning devices on our drill
grounds.
14. Construction of an Equipment-Tractor Storage Building at the New Castle Division.
15. Installation of shed roofs over bleachers at the Dover Liquids and Gas Pads.

16. Install bleachers at the Phase V Prop at the Dover Training Center.
